For each window in our house, I've installed light diffusing cellular shades in white. These can be cut to width and installed with no tools. They are great for privacy and still letting light in. I still wanted the ability to black out the light in the baby's room during naps, so I found navy black out curtains with back tabs. I hang them on coordinating gold curtain rods.
